Advice & Support

The Advice Centre is an advice, information and representation service provided by the SRC for all Glasgow University students. The Advice Centre offer free and confidential advice on wide range of subjects.

  • About The Advice Centre The Advice Centre is an advice, information and representation service provided by the SRC for all University of Glasgow students.
  • Academic The Advice Centre can offer advice and information on a number of University or study issues, whether you want to appeal against an exam grade or complain about an aspect of your course we can help.
  • Accommodation Finding accommodation is not always easy, and even when you have a place to call your own you could face problems unless you know something about your rights and responsibilities as a tenant. We’ve put together some information to get you started.
  • Employment With studies taking up most of your time, and income at a minimum, many students choose to supplement loans, grants and savings with part-time work.
  • Health and Wellbeing Your health and wellbeing at University is our top priority. These pages are contain guidance for taking care of yourself physically, mentally and sexually.
  • Money Managing what money you do have and making sure you’re getting everything you’re entitled to can be difficult at times, we’re here to help you make the most of your finances during your time at University.
  • Transport It’s a good idea to get to know the quickest and cheapest ways of getting around Glasgow. The Advice Centre have put together these pages to help you learn about the various options for public and private transport in the city so you can travel safely.
  • Out of Hours Support If the Advice Centre is closed, you need help straightaway, and you’re not sure where to turn, we have a list of contacts and links which may be useful.
  • Cost of Living Support The SRC Advice Centre have worked with the University to develop a Support Guide, which contains a wide range of support to assist you with the challenges of the rising cost of living.
  • GBV Counsellor The SRC has secured additional funding for a fully-trained Gender Based Violence (GBV) Counsellor who will be offering appointments in the Advice Centre every Tuesday.
