Job Title: GUSRC Mental Health Trainer
Salary: £10.50 per hour
We are recruiting University of Glasgow students to deliver our Mind Your Mate (Suicide Prevention Skills) and Emotional Resilience Skills workshops in-person and online, to students, staff, and targeted groups across the University. As a group of Mental Health Trainers, you will play an important role in helping GUSRC raise awareness of mental health issues and improve student wellbeing, by creating a community of student and staff Mental Health Champions.
Confidence in public speaking, flexible working, and a friendly, approachable manner are essential requirements for this role. You will be able to deliver workshops on your own and must be comfortable handling emotional and often distressing information with sensitivity.
This role offers valuable experience and is a fantastic opportunity to develop your communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.
Training will be held in person, from Monday 7th – Tuesday 15th August (Mind Your Mate) and Wednesday 16th – Friday 25th August (Emotional Resilience Skills). You must be available to deliver workshops the week prior to and during Freshers’ (4th – 16th September 2023), and throughout the academic year.
