Clubs and societies are encouraged to assess any risks to the health and safety of their members, or the public when organising events. Ordinary meetings are not expected to pose any significant risk, but other activities (e.g. involving trips outside the University, where there are large groups of people, where particular equipment is being used, etc.) may pose some risk. These risks should be identified and thought given to how they may be minimised or managed.
The University offers guidance on risk assessment here
Please be aware that you are responsible for organising your own insurance for public liability/travel etc, and are not covered by the SRC or University.
