Twice a year, the power is in your hands. Spring elections fill most positions on the Students' Representative Council (SRC), while Autumn elections allow students to choose General, 1st Year, and Postgraduate reps, as well as fill any vacant seats.
This by-election is part of the Spring Elections 2025 and will elect a new VP Student Activities, one of the SRC’s four full-time sabbatical officers. If you’re passionate about student events, clubs, societies, volunteering, and student engagement, this is your opportunity to make a real impact.
No experience is needed - just passion, ideas, and a drive to improve student life at UofG.

What is the Vice President Student Activities role?
The Vice President Student Activities is a full-time, paid role (£24,600 per year), starting 1st July 2025 and running until 30th June 2026.
As VP Student Activities, you will:
- 🎪 Help to organise Welcome Week, ensuring a fantastic start for new students.
- 🎭 Support student clubs & societies, assisting with affiliation, funding, and events.
- 💙 Champion student volunteering and personal development opportunities.
- 📣 Advocate for student activities across the University.
- 📰 Work with student media and support student-led publications.
This is an exciting and influential role - you’ll gain leadership experience, develop new skills, and work at the heart of student life at Glasgow.

How to Run
To stand for VP Student Activities, you must:
- NOT have run in the SRC Spring Election already (this is a by-election so is part of the same election cycle. Please read the Regulations section below).
- Be a fully registered UofG student who has not opted out of SRC membership.
- Gather 30 student endorsers who support your candidacy.
- Submit your nomination form by 12pm on Friday 21st March.
- Provide your manifesto, student ID, and photo by 4pm on Friday 21st March.

Regulations

By-elections are considered part of the same election cycle as the most recent election. This by-election is therefore considered a continuation of our Spring Elections 2025.
As per our election regulations, no member may run for more than one position on Council during the same election. This means that if you were a candidate in our Spring Elections 2025, you are not eligible to stand in the by-election.
