Overview

What is Orienteering? Orienteering involves walking/running while navigating. There are courses for all abilities and is a great way to see a lot of Scotland. What do I need? Come along in your best gripped shoes and some sports wear and we will supply everything you need to give it a go! What do I do? A good way to explain it is a hiking treasure hunt, but you should always know where you are (with a bit of training ). You are given a map and on the map is checkpoints. You go to these in order from one onwards and essentially, they give you a route to hike or run. When you get to them you have something called a dibber (this makes contact with each control you go to show you have been there and when you are finished you are given a time) and you need to make sure you come back to us at the end to ensure we know you have finished and not still out in the wilderness!

Final details and more information will be sent out once you have signed up.

You can come along at any point during the session, you are not required to stay for the full session.
