Overview

As part of our ongoing death penalty campaign, GU Amnesty International (in collaboration with GU Women in Politics and GU Lawyers without Borders) are hosting Amicus (a charity, founded in 1992, fighting for those facing the death penalty on death row - who are often persecuted as a result of race, history and socioeconomics).

Amicus works to provide access to legal representation. Amicus’ casework programme, assisted by pro bono volunteers from affiliate international law firms, has a crucial role in the investigation of currently active capital cases. Amicus will be sharing more about the death penalty and its application, the injustice of the death penalty, and the vital and live-saving work that Amicus do.

All attendees must follow the GUSRC Events Code of Conduct: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/policies/events-conduct/
