The Association of Women Surgeons Glasgow is thrilled to kick off the academic year with our first event, hosted in LT 639 at the James McCune Smith Building, University of Glasgow. We’ll be welcoming consultant surgeons from six different specialties—Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, ENT Surgery, General Surgery, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and Paediatric Surgery. Each surgeon will share deliver a brief presentation, sharing insights into their career path and the unique aspects of their specialty.
After the presentations, we’ll take a short break before diving into a Q&A panel, where you’ll have the chance to ask any burning questions and gain valuable advice.
This event is also an excellent opportunity to learn about our upcoming plans for the year, including future events and our upcoming surgical mentorship programme, as well as ways to get involved with the society.
We will wrap up the event with a pizza and drinks reception, giving you the perfect chance to network with the surgeons and fellow students.
