Overview

Watch University Challenge every week? Thought you could do better? Then test your quizzing skills with this year's edition of University Challenge Trials!

The Glasgow University Quiz Society invites you to take part in this year's University Challenge team selection. If you ever thought that you would do great on a quiz show, or that buzzer quiz would be fun, or just want to get bragging rights over your friends, come along to Boyd Orr 507 on October 28 at 7 PM to try your luck. No previous experience of any kind is necessary and all students, of all degree subjects and years, are welcome. Don't worry about performing poorly -- you never know with quiz, you might just end up on the team!

The trials will consist of two rounds. This upcoming Round 1 will have you take a 100 question written quiz covering a wide range of General Knowledge topics. The quiz should take about an hour to complete and will start sometime after 7 PM, so please be on time to minimise disruption. After grading is complete, we will invite the top 10 quizzers from round 1 to further buzzer quiz sessions which will determine the final team composition (4 members + 1 reserve).

If you have any accessibility concerns or fear that you may not be able to make the in-person session, let us know and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Note: althouigh everybody is welcome to try their hand at the Round 1 quiz, please note that eligiblity requirements apply for the people picked to go on the show -- all contestants must maintain full student status during the duration of their series filming, i.e. until approximately late June/early July. If you're not sure whether you will be eligible, please get in touch with us.

All attendees must follow the GUSRC Events Code of Conduct: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/policies/events-conduct/
