Overview

Tickets for the walk will be available at 6pm on Monday 10th. Please read this description carefully before getting a ticket!

Join us for our most challenging walk up Ben Ime and Ben Narnain, and the final walk with this committee!

The route is 13.5km and includes 1,325m of ascent. The trail is likely to be rocky, slippery and may have snow or ice. There will be steep sections, particularly towards the summit. Make sure to look over the route and further information and please consider your own fitness before signing up.

We absolutely require walking boots to attend this walk; we will not allow you on the coach if you do not have safe, appropriate footwear. We also require sensible clothing including walking trousers or similar, waterproofs and warm layers (highly reccomend hat and gloves). Also bring plenty of water, food for the day and any personal medications. For more information please see our Shoe Guide , Safety Policy. (We will be strict about this! It is March and weather at Ben Ime's summit barely get's above 5' on a good day, with wind chill it will feel even colder. If you come wearing jeans, leggings, trainers etc. we will not let you walk.)

We will be meeting at Glasgow Botanic Gardens at 8:45am to take a hired coach to Arrochar. We expect to be back in Glasgow by 6pm latest. Reminder that the subway won't be running so please plan your travel and make sure to arrive on time! Tickets are £14.50 to cover the cost of hiring the coach for a full day (unfortunately in this case we can't offer refunds for tickets).

Feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions about the walk, what to expect on the day, what to bring etc. You can message us on Instagram (@guwalkingsociety) or email us (guwalkingsociety@gmail.com) and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

All attendees must follow the GUSRC Events Code of Conduct: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/policies/events-conduct/

Happy Hiking!

Tickets are limited for the safety of attendees and walk leaders, please do not attend if you have not reserved a ticket. Walking Society membership is necessary to attend.
