We use the System 2.0 cable at Glasgow Wake Park, involving being pulled by a zip wire through the water, with a variety of obstacles to hit. Whether you are a newbie looking to start a fun new hobby, or an experienced rider, this is the club for you!
Competitions
We take part in multiple competitions, all of which are friendly and open to all abilities, including CeltWake, a big competition held between Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish universities. Competitions are a great way to meet likeminded people and always involve a lot of partying and good times.
Recreational
Wakeboarding is largely a recreational club with most members giving it a go for the first time at Uni. Our members progress very quickly as it is the easiest board sport to learn. All our sessions are recreational apart from competition events.
Training
Thanks to Glasgow Wake Park, Scotland's first urban wake park, a mere subway journey away, we have great training facilities close by. Here, you are always under full coaching by qualified instructors, as well as all equipment hire being available at great student deals. Glasgow Wake Park is a great place to hang out, watch others ride and create new friends as well as learning some sweet new tricks. We train here once or twice a week, and you are welcome to come to as many or as little sessions as you want. Once you join the club each session costs only £6, with all equipment and training included!
Socials
Wakeboarding is a very warm and sociable club, we are like one big family. We host small pub socials every other week, and bigger socials such as outings to the local trampoline park. We also join larger socials with our buddies at the Surf club!

Insurance
It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the appropriate insurance cover for any activity you take part in. Upon joining, please check the level of insurance cover we, as a club, provide to you.
GUSA recommends that all students playing high risk sport, go abroad to compete/train, or are playing in governing body leagues, may want to consider/need to take out personal liability insurance, or join the sports governing body to be covered. Some insurance providers also offer specialist sports cover.
