Creating a Listing
Visit www.glasgowunisrc.org/marketplace and make sure you are signed in.
You will be taken to a page to input the details of your listing. All fields marked with a red * are required fields.
Item Details
Enter the book title as it appears on the cover.
You may enter a short description. In this description we recommend writing the edition, author and condition of the book you are placing for listing. For example:
Edition (if applicable), Author, Condition
e.g. "1st. Edition, E.M. Forster, Good Condition".
Conditions may include:
- New: A brand-new, unused book
- Very good: A lightly read book that may have slight imperfections, but still looks great. Include photos and descriptions of any flaws in your listing.
- Good: A well read book that may show imperfections and signs of wear. Include photos and descriptions of any flaws in your listing.
- Satisfactory: A frequently read book with imperfections and signs of wear such as notes in margins or torn pages. Include photos and descriptions of any flaws in your listing.
Select the category of book from the dropdown menu.
Sale Details
Enter the price you wish to sell your item for.
If you would like to consider offers different from the price you've given, select 'Displays O.N.O. (Or Near Offer)'.
Select the on sale period for the item. The sale will start and end at these dates.
Item Description
You will be given the option to upload an image of your book.
To upload an image, select “Choose file”. You will then be given the opportunity to select the correct file from your computer. Once selected, please click “upload” and it will appear as an option to select for you.
Good and Bad Image Examples:
A good image should show the full book, be articulated correctly, be in good light, and show the current condition of the book. Please see below for some examples of good and bad photographs.

Double click on the photo you want to upload, and it will be uploaded to your listing.
For the item description, please include any additional information not already included in the Short Description.
Contact Details
Your email address is required to be attached to the listing.
You will be given the option to have your phone number attached to the listing, please uncheck this box if you do not want your phone number on the website.
You will also have to agree to our Terms and Conditions before posting your listing.
Please Note: If you are graduating, you will lose access to your student account. We reccomend adding your phone number to your listing if you still wish to be contacted regarding the sale of your book.
Managing Items
You can use the 'My Items' section to manage your listings.
Here you will be able to edit, remove and mark any listings as sold.
You will also be able to see from left to right: the title of your book for listing; the date it was listed; the date it has been on sale since; the date it is due to come off sale; mark an item as sold; take a book off sale before its end of sale date; edit listing.
Once you have sold a book, you will be able to mark it as sold. If you have changed your mind about selling your book or have decided to sell it using another channel, then you will be able to take the book off sale. Clicking on the notepad on the far right will take you back to the edit listing page where you can update any details.
