About

GUM was the first student magazine ever to be published in Scotland, way back in 1889.

We at Glasgow University Magazine (GUM) love culture. We curate a selection of interesting and intelligent articles, interviews and photographs both online and in print. You will find our lovingly produced publication on campus and in bars, clubs, galleries and independent businesses throughout the city. Casting off the student stereotype of pub golf and  gratuitous Jagerbombs, we aim to engage our readers to become actively engaged and think critically about the world around them.

GUM was the first student magazine ever to be published in Scotland, way back in 1889. Since that time the magazine has gone from strength to strength – expanding the brains of its readers with politics, science, comedy, art, fashion, music, travel, sport and satire.
