Hi we are the AAMR society here at the University of Glasgow. We want to raise awareness of impact of antimicrobial drug resistance on the world. Our society is an official affiliate of ‘Antibiotic Research UK’ and all funds raised at our events go straight the charity. If you want to learn about, or contribute to the fight against antimicrobial resistance we would love to have you join our society!

We hold fun social events throughout the year,  alongside our fundraising efforts so there is something for everyone to enjoy. No prior knowledge of microbiology required, just an interest to learn!

Antimicrobial resistance is a major challenge facing our society today. Antibiotics and other antimicrobial drugs are the cornerstone of modern medicine, but the germs and infections they target are evolving to counter them. More and more cases of resistance to antibiotic treatments are being seen and without intervention we face a global health crisis.
