About

The Glasgow University Bengali society is a voluntary and non-profit student-led organization. It was founded to promote the Bengali culture and heritage from the Bengal regions of South-Asia, West Bengal and Bangladesh. It wishes to allow the people from this community to come together and support each other in Glasgow.

The society wishes to focus on the rich Bengali culture, which is usually not focused on due to generalization of various south-asian cultures. The society aims to include people who are curious about learning this culture.

We also wish to showcase the strong artistic background of the region and endorse artists amongst the students within the University. It is in the hope of sharing a feeling of home, pride and affection for the community. The society would also campaign for various issues faced by the community.

The society would organize several events in the year, from festival celebrations, new year, cultural evenings and more.
