Fantasy Society

Fans of all levels are welcome, from fantasy fanatics to newbies, to those just looking to try something new. There will hopefully be something for everyone and everyone is welcome to join.

Our society has been invited to join the so-called Nerd Coalition. Many of the university’s ‘nerd’ societies collaborate and support each other, with their network of support being referred to as the Nerd Coalition. Working together these individual societies put on popular events including the Nerd Ceilidh. We will work with them to put on fantastic events, bringing together students from many different societies. Our members will get to be party of an extensive network of societies at the University of Glasgow.

Inclusivity and accessibility are important to us as a society. We want our community to be open to all students! By providing a platform for virtual communication and through hosting a variety of different events we hope to make our society accessible to everyone. We will ensure that a broad range of fantasy shows, movies and worlds are celebrated, so that there will be something for everyone. We are also committed to hosting events during the day as well as the evening to cater for all schedules. With Autumn elections, even new students will get the opportunity to be directly involved in the society!

With a social media page, chat group and discord server, there are many ways to join and help build our community. Importantly, we’ll organise fun in-person events, for members to get together, celebrate their passions and get to know each other. We are filling the gap in the student society market. Fans of Doctor Who, Harry Potter and Anime get to express themselves, now so do fantasy fans!
