About

Glasgow University Public Health Society

Interested in health, medicine, and/or life sciences? Passionate about the impact of social inequalities on health and well-being? Want to help local communities through fun events and educational talks? Come join us at GUPHS!

We’re the Glasgow University Public Health Society, a society for students of all disciplines dedicated to promoting public health awareness and health equality, particularly in the Glasgow area.

Public health is all about the physical, mental, and social well-being of all people. As well as considering the various aspects of a person’s health and how to maintain well-being, it talks about whole communities and the impact of social and environmental factors on community health. In short, the aim of public health discussions is to make sure everyone has a great quality of life.

We welcome everyone to the discussion regardless of background (in fact, we’d love as many perspectives as possible!) – all we ask for is an interest in making Glasgow, and the world, a place where good health and well-being is a possibility for everyone!

To stay updated on our exciting charity events, talks and awareness campaigns, and (of course) some fun socials, follow us on our social media and sign up to our mailing list!
