About

Have you ever wanted to dance like people on Strictly? Here's your chance!

Glasgow University Ballroom and Latin Dancing Society is open to all who wish to learn Ballroom and Latin dance. We teach 4 main dances which are rotated every week: Cha-Cha, Jive, Waltz and Quickstep. Our classes run typically on a Sunday evening. We also hold workshops throughout the year so you can experience other kinds of Ballroom and Latin dances, like Samba, Tango, Rumba and the Viennese Waltz.

Please check our class timetable or our social media for class times, but these are generally:

Sunday:

  • 5 - 6 pm – Beginner class
  • 6 - 7 pm – Novice class
  • 7 - 8 pm – Pre-intermediate+ class
  • 8 – 9 pm – Practice space

On Monday and Friday evenings we have open practice slots.

For those of you who are interested, we regularly participate in competitions on the university circuit (this is optional). No previous dance experience is required to compete, so don't be scared; we always have good fun and you won’t be alone! We have open practice spaces and competition workshops during the year so get stuck in and challenge yourself!

We love having fun outside of classes and this year we have lots of socials planned! We have our annual Winter and Spring balls, regular pub nights, tea dances, movie nights and more!

If you are interested in joining us, join us on:

Feel free to ask us any questions on the Facebook page, as well us our email gublds@outlook.com.

We look forward to dancing with you soon!
