Dance4Water is a student-run volunteer project that teaches different dance classes to raise money for the charity WaterAid.
Dance4Water (previously known as Salsa4Water) is a society that raises money for WaterAid by teaching dance classes. This semester we offer classes of Cuban, LA and NY salsa, bachata and kizomba. You can also expect different workshops, for example, hip hop, bellydancing and lindy hop.
So, why do we donate money to WaterAid?
Everyday, 1400 children around the world die from waterborne infections, as a result of inadequate sanitation and dirty drinking water. Our aim is to put a stop to this, via the formation of 4Water projects all over the world. Currently, you can find our projects in different cities around Europe, like Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen and many more, teaching different dance styles, languages and other skills. From 2009 until summer 2019 all 4Water projects raised more than £300,000.
Our aim is to continue to raise money for WaterAid, while having fun and instigating social responsibility among the student population. So, don’t hesitate and come to our classes – you will not only have lots of fun, you will also meet a lot of new people and most importantly, you will help us raise more money for WaterAid.
If you would like to know more about our society and classes we teach, check our Facebook page Dance4Water Glasgow or email us on salsa4water@gmail.com.
We are looking forward to meeting you soon!
