How to Vote

Below, you'll find step-by-step instructions on how to cast your vote.

Who Can Vote?

Only current and fully registered University of Glasgow students are eligible to vote in this referendum. If you're not part of this group, you won’t be able to access the ballot.

When Can You Vote?

• Voting opens: Wednesday 26th March, 09:00
• Voting closes: Thursday 27th March, 17:00

Make sure to cast your vote before the deadline!

Where Can You Vote?

Voting can take place either via the SRC website, or via the My SRC app. You can find instructions below!

How to Vote - Website

1. Log in – Visit https://glasgowunisrc.org/login and sign in using your student ID and password. Get in touch with support@src.gla.ac.uk if you are unable to login.
2. Access the Referendum – Visit this page to see the Referendum: https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/referenda
3. Read the Motion – You will see the referendum question.
4. Read the Campaign Statements - Read the statements for the “YES” case, and for the “NO” case.
5. Access Voting Page – Click the Vote now button to access the voting page.
   • Please note this will only be visible during the voting period (9am on Wednesday 26th March to 5pm on Thursday 27th March).
6. Make Your Choice – Select one of the following options:
   YES – I support divestment.
   NO – I oppose divestment.
7. You will be directed to a confirmation page once your vote has been successfully recorded.
8. Submit any reports of issues or feedback to support@src.gla.ac.uk.
9. Await the results being shared via email after 6pm on Thursday 27th March!

How to Vote - App

1. Download the My SRC App – If you do not already have the app, you can find links to download it from your app store at https://www.glasgowunisrc.org/app/.
2. Log in to the My SRC App – Once you have completed app set-up, please open the app and sign in using your student ID and password. Get in touch with support@src.gla.ac.uk if you experience any issues with this.
   • You need to have signed in at least once to the SRC website in order for the app to work.
3. Access the Referendum – On the App Menu, scroll down to item “SRC Referendum on UofG Arms Divestment”. Click this to access the Referendum.
4. Read the Motion – You will see the referendum question.
5. Read the Campaign Statements - Read the statements for the “YES” case, and for the “NO” case.
6. Access Voting Page – Click the Vote now button to access the voting page.
   • Please note this will only be visible during the voting period (9am on Wednesday 26th March to 5pm on Thursday 27th March).

What Happens After Voting?

Once you've cast your vote, you’ll be redirected to a completion page. If you encounter any issues, please report them to support@src.gla.ac.uk as soon as possible.
