LGBTQ+ History Month 2025: Activism & Social Change
This February, the SRC invites you to join us as we celebrate LGBTQ+ History Month and explore how activism changes lives, laws, and our understanding of equality.
From the pivotal first UK Pride march in 1972 to more recent victories like the legalisation of same-sex marriage in 2014s, we'll uncover the powerful stories of those who dared to change the world. We'll also delve into Glasgow's own rich history of activism, highlighting the local heroes who fought for progress.
Throughout the month, we'll share inspiring stories of activists, both past and present, who have fought tirelessly for equality. Discover the rich history of LGBTQ+ rights in Scotland, learn about lesser-known identities, and explore how the struggle for justice continues today.
Join us for a month of events, exhibitions, and discussions that celebrate the achievements of LGBTQ+ activists and highlight the ongoing struggle for equality.
Use #SocialActivism or #LGBTplusHM25 to join the conversation.
