Ali Matough Essa

Hi, I’m Ali Matoug, running for Adam Smith’s Business School representative. At this point, I’m sure you don’t want to read a load of unreal promises, but please give me a minute to share my backstory. I grew up in a war-torn country—missiles and shooting were my everyday reality. Despite all that terror, I stayed strong and focused on my goals. I know you might not care about my background, but I mention it, so you know I don’t back down from any challenge.
I’m a student just like you—this is my second semester as a first year. Yet, I’ve noticed something’s missing: real representation. And I’m not calling out whoever’s in charge; I’m talking about the lack of true, personal representation. After a quick Google search, “representation” means “the action of speaking or acting on behalf of someone.” How can anyone do that without knowing you? I promise to ditch the useless feedback surveys and get to know you one-on-one. That’s my pledge—how I deliver on it is up to you.
