Nishka Pranay

Hi! I’m Nishka, a second year Immunology student and the Vice President of the Infection and Immunity Society. I am the Life Sciences Convener for WiSTEM and second year rep for SWAG.
I have been a class rep for my courses since first year, meaning I have a wealth of experience that will be extremely useful as a School Rep. Currently, I am also a Student Voice Intern at the College of MVLS, an initiative to make sure student voices are heard.
If elected, I will dedicate myself to bettering the student experience, both by listening to and acting on student feedback, and by providing:
- Open communication: I will actively communicate with class reps and other students, and will ensure to deliver all feedback to staff regularly, while updating students on the actions being taken in response to their feedback.
- Networking opportunities: Microbiology and Immunology is a small cohort, and I will ensure that there are several socialising and networking opportunities available, by collaborating with staff and student societies.
- Mental well-being: I will encourage open and consistent dialogue between staff and students about mental health and overwhelm, ensuring staff are aware of students’ needs, aiding empathy when granting extensions etc.
