Natalie van Rooyen
About Me:
Hello! My name is Natalie and I am a 2nd year Psychology student. Being a class rep last year, I have had some experience in communicating with both students and faculty. I would like to use this experience to bring about positive change and support for those experiencing difficulties, both academic and personal, as well as fostering an engaged and collaborative learning environment for students to embrace the return of in-person lectures.
What I’ll Do:
- Make sure students are aware of all the relevant support available both academic (PAL, GTA sessions etc.) and welfare (financial and mental health support)
- Coordinating with class reps and improving engagement
- Ensuring support for students experiencing housing difficulties or struggling with the cost of living crisis.
- Creating a positive space for discussions around mental health and exam stress as we transition back to in-person lectures.
- Ensuring lecture theatres are adequate and lectures are recorded throughout the year.
- Facilitate the implementation of the Green New Deal within the School of Psychology and Neuroscience
