Pablo Moran Ruiz
Hello! I’m Pablo (He/Him), a third-year biomedical engineering student, and would love to be the next LGBTQ+ officer. This year, I had first-hand experience on how the SRC works as a Freshers’ Helper, making me eager to represent and support students. I have also been on the Spanish society board for three years now, improving my crisis management and organizational skills. If elected, I will put forth my best work so every voice is heard, representing the interests of the LGBTQ+ student body through:
- Ensuring the current student and accommodation crisis does not disproportionally affect the LGBTQ+ student community nor shift the focus on much needed action.
- Working alongside the Gender Equality Officer to ensure policies and action towards safety and inclusivity of trans and non-binary students.
- Establishing an LGBTQ+ group to raise concerns democratically, empowering student voice.
- Ensuring all affiliated club and society office bearers receive consent and sexual violence training.
- Advocating for visibility and mental health campaigns tackling LGBTQ+ issues.
- Guaranteeing appropriate resources and immediate action to students requiring support from sexual orientation or gender identity harassment.
- Communicating with LGBTQ+ university associations to be aware of concerns amongst students.
Choose strong LGBTQ+ rights and make stronger student communities!
