Chantelle Atsegoh
Hi, my name is Chantelle Atsegoh. I am currently studying law at UoG and I’m running for School of Law Representative. As the current SRC First Year Representative, as well as being a representative for Level 1 law, I’ve had the privilege in advocating for our collective interests and fostering a supportive environment for all students. Here are some of my key commitments:
- Advocating for Student Needs and Interests: I aim to ensure that students feel supported, by being a point of contact for them in regards to addressing any concerns or sharing any feedback that they may have
- Communication: I intend to promote better communication between students and the school
- Availability of Workspace: I am committed to advocating for the extension of the law workshop’s closing time as I believe that this will provide students with better flexibility to engage in research, study and collaboration.
I am dedicated to bringing about positive change to enhance our university experience and I am confident in my ability to effectively represent our school!
Andreas Tavros
My name is Andreas Tavros, and I am running for the School of Law Representative position. Having held the Class Representative position in previous years, I believe I have gained the relevant experience to be able to represent you in this position as a competent candidate.
What I will do:
- Engage with the relevant individuals to establish a cohesive marking standard, addressing recurring concerns about inconsistent grading practices that leave students feeling uncertain.
- Advocating for further feedback on assessments and exams to promote academic development.
- Work closely with the employability team to ensure there is clarity provided on the opportunities available for undergraduate, post-graduate and accelerated students.
- Work alongside the SRC to advocate for adequate space for lectures as well as trying to push for completely in-person lectures.
What I have done:
- Promoted, in multiple student representatives’ meetings, the need for greater exam feedback as well as marking criteria.
- Increased effective communication between staff and students, ensuring that issues have been raised appropriately.
Thank you for reading my manifesto and feel free to contact me with any questions.
