Having been the class representative for both politics and philosophy, I would like to take the experience and relationships I have built to further improve our student experience. I hope to use my time in our school to campaign for themes that resonate meaningfully with your needs and desires. Firstly, I would like to pursue formal recognition for mental health as a sufficient reason for absence in seminars. I would also like to promote greater social opportunity by incorporating greater contact between the subject societies and staff to work towards events that invigorate students. This includes those focused on career paths through workshops and dialogue with leading figures. Furthermore, I would like to advocate for the further integration of perspectives from the global south. Chanakya, an ancient and salient Indian figure, has his own valuable political thought that could contrast well with Aristotle on political systems such as monarchy. I believe there is great benefit and intrigue in considering thought systems, sourced outside our own experience of social life. Lastly, I want to improve transparency of the process by actively reporting on outcomes; to display, how together, we are actively working towards bettering your experience in our school.
