Turki Alajmi
My name is Turki Alajmi, I am a PG in Financial Risk Management. I have a bachelor’s degree in finance from Adelphi University in New York. I also have experience in working in two different segments, financial analyst in a telecom company and a logistics supervisor in a logistic company. I am also the class representative for financial risk management. I am skilled in communication which I believe it is an essential skill for the position of Charities officer. I am planning to use my maximum effort to make creative marketing approaches to help making clubs and societies funded for their activities. My extended experience can bring in better funding and spread awareness about social causes, that would be comparable to a professional. I would like to extend our tie-ups with charity organizations that are making strides and the ones that are still blooming.
Eloise Bishop
Hello everyone!
I'm Eloise - a third year History student, and this year I'm running for the role of Charities Officer. I have years worth of professional and voluntary experience as a part of various UK and Scottish charities. As a part of this I have hosted events to welcome refugees to Glasgow and support minority communities across Scotland. I know the great value of volunteering and charities and it is this expertise I want to bring onto campus and to the SRC.
If elected I will:
Continue work with a wide range of charities, both local and national, using my experience to build connections.
Work with the SRC and societies to promote the benefits of volunteering for students by increasing the online presence of RAG.
Encourage engagement from individuals and clubs and societies with RAG throughout the year as well as RAG week.
Vote Eloise for your Charities Officer!
Angelica Wilson
Hi there! My name is Angelica and I am the current RAG week officer for the Raising and Giving committee.
I believe that maintaining the positive relations that I made through my position as the RAG week officer this year is essential to the increase in cross-campus collaborations in the upcoming year, which will facilitate the society to raise more money for charities through a larger number of charity events.
Through the position of Charities officer, I would like to continue the efforts that have been made this year to grow Raising and Giving as a society to enable an increased contribution to charitable efforts through the support of both society and committee members.
Additionally, I hope that an increase in the RAG society members will both facilitate and encourage wider campus collaborations, which will strengthen cross campus relations and encourage further fundraising efforts through charity events.
If elected, I hope to collaborate with the Raising and Giving teams across Scotland to raise money through larger events whilst also forming new relationships which may prove beneficial for future fundraising efforts.
