Kavya Srinivasan
Hi all, I’m Kavya. I’m currently a first year International Student from Dubai studying Common Law. My background as an international student and the hardships it comes with, are one of the main reasons I am running for this post. Under my vision, I will let no International Student suffer from any crisis that arise and devote myself fully for their ease throughout my term by actively engaging in committees and campaigns by bringing new innovative solutions for their higher fees, broken accommodation crisis and academics alike.
The following will highlight and summarise my tenure next year as International Student’s Officer:
More events & engagement programs for International Students.
- Committed to ensure diversity in the university & safeguard all the communities at the University.
- Focused on delivering more anti-racism policies and campaigns.
- Campaigning for more scholarships for the ethnic and less privileged backgrounds.
- Support and advocating for guaranteed accommodation especially for the International Students.
- Help incoming international students by providing them with necessary support
I promise that if selected, I would strive to the best of my ability to make a difference and cater to the various asks of students.
Qixin Wei
Hi, I’m Qixin Wei, the first year undergraduate of UofG, now doing International Relations. Both as an international student myself and the IR student, I totally recognize the issues and problems we may meet during the period studying abroad. I’m trying my best to overcome various difficulties, and I really hope that I can share my experience to my fellow students as well.
As an IR student, I have excellent presentation skills, which can help better represent student voice. I have attended Model United Nations for many times so I’m familiar with being a delegate or the representative, as well as raise the common global issues. I once attended World Laureates Forum and communicated with Michael Levitt, the Nobel Prize winner; I also attended World Artificial Intelligence Conference 2021 and represented the high school students before. Besides, I have good communication skills. I was elected the ClassRep last semester, thus I have experienced having conversations both with teachers and fellow students and dealing with different cases.
I believe that the International Student Officer can push me to shoulder the responsibility and get more practice. I will seize this opportunity and do my best!
